November 13, 2007 The Sabatino Report An innocent man spent months in jail after the victim of an attempted robbery wrongly identified him. Defense attorney Martha Carlton Magana will be our guest Wednesday morning on the Morning Mayor Show KMPH AM 840 at 10. The innocent man was asked to take a plea. How often does the district attorney use this tactic to jail people? Please forward to you e-mail friends.

Good afternoon, StanCOG is having their funding meeting tonight at 1010 10th St Place, in the Council/Supervisor’s chambers in the basement. The meeting starts at 6:00 PM, Wednesday night. This should be a very politically charged meeting with the real power brokers in full battle gear. The future of the West Side is probably in balance, and the effects will ripple through out the County. The citizens of Modesto will be impacted dramatically, thought not as much as those of Patterson, Newman, Gustine, and Grayson. You might consider attending. It will be instructive, and very informative. Dave

As a life long resident of Modesto, I owe much to the YMCA. As a youth, the highlight of every Summer was at least one ten day session at Camp Jack Hazard. The camp is located one mile above Dardanelle at the 7,000 ft elevation. The YMCA taught values and skills that have been the foundation of my adult life. When I became too old to attend camp, I volunteered to work on the kitchen crew, and spent the entire Summer in paradise. I remember when the YMCA was housed in an old building on J Street, that did not meet the communities needs. All of Modesto was so proud of the new YMCA digs when they moved to their present location. The YMCA has been a constant positive influence on the lives of Modestans of all ages. We need to rally around the YMCA, and help it through this time of financial need. I for one will be digging deep into my pockets to help the YMCA survive. We simply can't allow this valuable asset to fail for lack of money. Please join me in supporting a new beginning for Modesto's YMCA. With your help, the YMCA can be put back into financial health, and can continue to enrich the lives of our residents. Tux

Adam, tonight, our remarkable Mayor, told us, regarding district elections, HOT NEWS "The people have spoke." A chill went down my spine, and I had to write you. I hope you will quote Da Mayor correctly. This statement should be memorialized in the annals of our 373rd rated City, (a "cultural mecca") and be quoted at every public meeting forever more. Thank you very much, Dave. Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T
