PATRICK MCGRATH CHARGED BY CALIFORNIA BAR

The State of California Bar filed a Notice of Disciplinary Action

Against Modesto Attorney Patrick McGrath on October 31, 2006.

A hearing is set for November 17, 2006. The Sabatino Report is

obtaining a copy of the charges which include moral turpitude,

theft, and forgery.

McGrath was supposed to be a key witness against former

Mayor, Carmen Sabatino, but informed the District Attorney

that he would invoke the Fifth Amendment if he was called.

The District Attorney then dropped two felony counts against the

Mayor involving over $3 million.

Mark Vasche of the Modesto Bee, Supervisor Ray Simon,

Mike Zagaris of PMZ realty, and Attorney Roger Brown of Sonora,

were other notables who refused to honor subpoenas.

Could they be next?
