Sixteen votes made the difference between Dick Monteith's victory over Janice Keating for the District 4 Supervisor race. By the narrowist of margins, the citizens of Stanislaus County were spared the big real estate developer controlled candidate from taking office. It is a victory for the average citizen of Stanislaus County.

This web site has seen an explosion of readership in the last two months. We received over 50,000 visits to our web site during the last two months. I must assume that our readers  made a huge difference in the vote tally. I would like to thank the people who submitted articles for publication concerning Measure K, and the Monteith/Keating race. The truth is a powerful tool when the people are allowed to see it. By publishing content that you would never see in the BEE, the Stanislaus Free Press is participating in the positive transformation of our local political machine.

It is our hope that the control over our local politics is now shifting away from candidates that are controlled by the big money real estate development people. The people who brought you Village One are starting to lose control over the voters, and it is about time. We need to basically clean house of the elected officials that are in the developers hip pockets.

We have much to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. I thank each and every one of our readers, who spread the word, and are part of the positive change that is now sweeping our County. I thank Carmen Sabatino, for having the courage and integrity to stand up to the corrupt people who destroyed his world. These corrupt people are having to face the truth now, and it will only get worse for them as time goes by. I must start cooking now, so I will go. May each and every one of you out there have a very happy Thanksgiving.           Administrator

But they Did'nt!
written by Mod Steve on December 1, 2006

But they did'nt and Monteith Won by being honest, running a clean campaign & also spending a mere fraction of Keating's War chest $$.

Taxpayers also won by not having to pay for an election to fill an empty City Council seat, something the Bee & their little cheer-leader Jeff Jardine downplayed in their version of the 'News'.

Monteith is the Man! And now perhaps a little bit of fiscal sanity & honesty can be returned to the County Board of Supervisors?

Is Simon gone yet?? When can we have the party to celebrate his departure??

It was closer than you state...

If only NINE Monteith voters had voted for Keating, she would have won.
