The following document details the frivolous waste of money that the Modesto City Council spends to "defend" themselves for the vile employment practices that have been done to Modesto City Staff. Members of this council should seriously consider not running for office again or resign before the November election. The following information was provided by Dave Thomas with the request that you send it to your e-mail list. Everyone must know. CITY OF MODESTO EXPENDITURES FOR LAWYERS FROM PRIVATE FIRMS, FOR THE LAST 3FISCAL YEARS. This information was supplied by the Modesto City Attorney, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act requests I have made. You might consider that our elected officials on the City Council squander your tax dollars. Think how they never have money to pave roads, or hire cops and firefighters. They do however, have plenty of money to spend fighting employees, and watchdogs. They can hire outsiders to raise your water rates illegally, fight employees who have been harassed and victimized by the very government you pay for. Remember these members when you vote. Dave Thomas The Modesto City Council has agreed to settle the first lawsuit for $3,250,000.00 of your hard earned tax dollars. If that is not an admission of guilt, what is? The Council has both allowed and encouraged certain city staff to engage in illegal practices that include discrimination in hiring and promotion and pay, requiring employees to work out of classification, bias (nepotism) and retaliation against whistle blowers. It is the Council that allowed this to happen, and it is responsible for the huge legal bills that they pay with your tax money. Dave Thomas
