Modesto lost a great man a couple of days ago. Charley Duncan spearheaded two drives tp prevent the City of Modesto from injecting the toxic byproduct of uranium mining into our drinking water. Charley lived a long and fruitful life. He was a highly decorated veteran of WW2, and was even called up for service in the Korean war briefly. Charley stood up to our City Council that was bound and determined to inject this contaminated rat poison into our water. He won in 1959, and he won again only a few years ago. Modestan's should be ever watch full for further attempts to force this poison into our drinking water. We should continue to force the chemical companies to haul this stuff off to the toxic waste dump where it belongs.                                       Administrator
