I just received this E-Mail from a friend, and though it belonged on the web site.
That is correct, folks. The Modesto City Council is going to approve spending $1,037,000 on a plan that is ELEVEN YEARS OLD!! Can you imagine a more irresponsible thing to do? This is the Council who paid a consultant to tell them that they need to spend $16,000,000 on roads EVERY YEAR, but authorized only $6,000,000 this year for roads. This is the council who raised your water rates so they could make a $14,000,000 profit this year. This is the council who accepts “phantom buildings” being built behind their backs. You have to wonder, though, why they need any plans at all. They planned to build the road to Enochs High, but did not do it. They planned to build out Pelandale, but did not do it. They planned to fix the overpasses, but never did it. They planned to have a quiet, classy downtown, but did not do it. What “plan” did the Council ever actually accomplish, at least on time, and within budget? I think the answer is “NEVER”. Oh, they will protest that the $1,037,000 is more than they planned to spend, but they will approve it anyhow. You can watch them at work, planning to have a plan, tonight at 5:30 PM, channel 7. Or not….
