The Sabatino Report
You can’t know what they are doing with your tax dollar if all you know about what’s
going on in Stanislaus County comes from the Modesto Bee.
The Morning Mayor Show from 10:00 to 11:00 weekdays on KMPH 840 AM will give you a view on what the Bee wants you to know and when you should know it.
For example, the Friday October 5th front page headline read:
Downtown cash flows into city coffers
The Bee reports that sales tax revenue from downtown restaurants, clubs and hotels increased over $100,000 over the previous year.
The Bee also reported that because of a decline in automotive, furniture and housing related industries there was an overall decrease in sales tax revenue from the downtown of $200.000.
The Bee also reported that it costs $500.00 a year to provide police security for the downtown area.
We report that the excessive police expense is not necessary and is hurting the downtown restaurants and clubs who could prosper and provide more sales tax.
We suggest a more accurate headline:
Overall decline in downtown sales tax revenue
Flood of continued debt is forecast
Does the Bee engage in propaganda and call it journalism? What do they want you to believe?
Read the Bee and call the Morning Mayor Show. What a difference!
