John Michael Flint, in an article published in the Modesto Bee,  predicted that there will be "Hell To Pay," if the powers to be were unable to convict Carmen Sabatino of any of the numerous charges made against him. Well, we all know what happened, and it is time for those that cast the first stones to suffer the consequences.

The civil proceedings that Carmen Sabatino is putting into motion, will give a second chance for the truth to come out in court. Under the more relaxed rules of civil proceedings, it will be much more difficult for the usual suspects to get excused from having to testify.

Mick Krausnick, the County Council, has raised the question of the Statute of Limitations in this case. He says that Carmen would have had to file his claim within one year of the charges being lodged. I do not think this will fly, because of the extensive amount of time it took to even get a judge to try the case, or a lawyer to represent Carmen. I do not think that the City of Modesto, or Stanislaus County will be allowed to get any relief from the Statute of Limitations given these facts.

In naming individual elected officials, in addition to the City of Modesto, and Stanislaus County, they will be forced to obtain their own legal representation, at their own expense.

So now it is Carmen's turn. It is my hope that the truth about this whole affair will finally be allowed to be made public. Hopefully it will come to pass that those people, and entities that orchestrated this bogus trial will be made to pay a penalty, and that Carmen Sabatino will be made whole again both financially and politically.

I think the column to which you refer appeared after the DA dropped the hammer on Mayor Sabatino but BEFORE the election that cost him his job.

Who knew it would take so long for Sabatino to get his day in court?

He may end up being 'made whole' financially, but his political career is finito, I'm afraid.

With a level playing field, Mr Sabatino will prevail.

When will the county,(Ray Simon)repay the taxpayers of Modesto the millions of dollors stolen from garbage fees. Mr. Sabatino went after that money for the citizens. You dont see Modestos current Mayor working for you.

Ray Simon once stated that he was the county. Pony up to the bar Ray Simon.
