YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU'RE RIGHT ON ROD, RIGHT ON. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT YOU SAY ROD? Oh, pah-LEEZ!! After returning home from several great weeks of vacation, I read the BEE’s editorial about shopping carts. I am sure that Kristin Olsen is a fine person. BUT, if she really “cares” for Modesto, she should be concerned about and working to solve, violent crime at twice the rate of the average American city; a cost of living 130% of the average American city; the atrocious state of our city streets; the fact that the city cannot pave half a mile of road to the newest city high school after tearing it up over a year ago; pretending to want affordable housing, but authorizing 7000 new mini-mansions; pretending to want growth to “pay for itself” but cutting deals with developers and big business; charging homeowners immorally huge water and sewer rates, while making sweet deals with the largest water and sewer users – who fund their campaigns. But why go on. The BEE actually supports the mindless and meaningless ramblings of a chirpy girl who can only praise the lying bureaucrats who tell her what to do. Honestly, can you tell me, how is getting a few shopping carts off the park grass going to make the lives of the average Modesto citizen better? The reason Modesto is the worst American city to live in is simply not related to shopping carts, nor to Olsen’s happy face attitude. “Higher Standards” in shopping carts! THAT’S THE TICKET!!!! Disgusted as ever, Dave
