www.kmph840.com Local News Talk for the Central Valley June 3, 2008 The Sabatino Report From the Modesto Bee: Sabatino faces bill for attorney's fees Former Modesto Mayor Carmen Sabatino faces a bill for $22,887 in attorney's fees from an election lawsuit he filed against the city in October. Stanislaus County Superior Court Judge Roger Beauchesne plans to award the city that sum, according to a tentative ruling he issued Monday. The order could be changed at a hearing today. Sabatino claimed that the City Council misused public money in paying for a voter education campaign about district elections. The city countered that the $48,000 campaign was meant to provide voters objective information about a November ballot measure. Sabatino's lawsuit was dismissed by the court in February.
