Here we go all over again. Modesto has "Settled" it's voting rights discrimination law suit mess for $3,000,000.00 Three Million Dollars. Our city is literally bleeding money lately paying off people, and groups of people that it has wronged. All of this has happened under the steady leadership of the "Good Old Boys and Girls" that have been in control for a long time. They are really on a roll lately. So we are going broke at a rapidly increasing pace, while our fearless leaders have given themselves huge raises. Dave Thomas has just shown us how the Modesto City Council has raised the pay of many management positions within the city. All of this was done behind closed doors. The City Council is flush with new pay raises, while our children have the park pools demolished. The Modesto Bee keeps up the illusion that Modesto is being run well by our elected officials. But then again, these people are the people that the Bee has helped get elected, so they naturally can do no wrong. Going broke Modesto style. Maybe with the proper press coverage, nobody will notice.
